StudyPlace Wiki
The StudyPlace wiki uses the means of peer production to create an online space for the academic study of education. With the project since its inception, Matt has played many roles. Mostly, though, his task has been to nurture the wiki so that it can grow and sustain itself, or as Eric Raymond called it, to offer a “plausible promise” to the StudyPlace users.
As a graduate research assistance, he has served StudyPlace in diverse ways. In a technical, he has worked on the customization of the php based MediaWiki, the software that powers both Wikipedia and StudyPlace. He has organized online and in-person “sprints” — target group writing sessions around areas of content. He’s run workshops at Teachers College about using the wiki and the basic ideas behind it.
To understand the project better, please see the “5 minute tour” that Matt created.
